From Dublin but living in Limerick city since 2015, I now job-share in Coláiste Chiaráin in Croom, teaching German and European Studies. In the UK, where I completed my training in 2002, I principally taught English, and on returning to Ireland in 2006 I toured the country teaching German, English, EAL and French. I studied English and German in UCD with French in and later studied for an MA in Postcolonial Studies in the UK and took post-grad courses in Canada on Immigrant Literature. Prior to teaching I worked as a research project manager for oral history in UCC. I was also involved with youth sail-training on STV Asgard II and traditional boat restoration and rigging in Ireland and the US. I am currently studying part-time for an MA in Applied Linguistics at MIC with research interests in Dyslexia, Bi-lingualism and CLIL in Second Language Acquisition.
