The gdi operate to represent and provide for the professional needs of their members. The focus is and advocacy and adoption of organizational strategies that help promote the professionalism of German teachers in Ireland. One of the GDI’s main tasks is to equip German teachers in Ireland with the necessary tools to create holistic teaching and learning, implementing the curriculum, as well as the CEFR (The Common European Framework of Reference for Languages). It is the GDI’s greatest aim to motivate German teachers all over Ireland to join regular professional development, in order to make their teaching easier as well as to ensure that students of German experience joy and progression in their language learning.
